We Are Blood is seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient release of blood products to patients in need.
Key Responsibilities- Perform patient testing functions, including ABO testing, antibody screens, and antigen testing.
- Process Apheresis platelet products and Acrodose platelet manufacturing according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Manage receipt of donor testing results from ETF and ensure timely receipt of all testing results.
- Accurately label blood components for distribution.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the efficient release of safe blood products.
- Follow all procedures for testing, maintenance, safety, and quality control.
- Ensure compliance with FDA and AABB standards.
- ASCP or AMT Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), Medical Technologist (MT), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) preferred.
- Blood Bank experience required.
- Familiarity with cGMP, AABB, and FDA regulations.
- Punctual and dependable.
- Able to work on call and rotate through on-call schedule.
- Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid Texas Driver's license, proof of insurance, and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to focus in a busy and often noisy environment.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in an area where biohazardous elements can exist.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
