Job Summary:

The IT Security Administrator will be responsible for the tactical implementation of IT security standards, best practices, architecture, and systems to ensure consistent application of IT security across the enterprise. This role will ensure information security controls are prioritized and maintained when users and/or vendors require access to internal/external systems/databases/applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer day-to-day operations of security appliances, security-related software and hardware, and security incident resolution.
  • Implement processes and methods for auditing and addressing non-compliance of IT security standards and facilitate the migration of non-compliant environments to compliant environments.
  • Administer Advanced Threat Protection.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of security requirements for IT projects and make recommendations for security applications to assist with the implementation of changes to strengthen security measures.
  • Manage the Incident Response program and plans.
  • Analyze and assess available Security tools and countermeasures to remedy detected vulnerabilities and recommend solutions and best practices.
  • Analyze and assess suspected or actual damage to data/infrastructure as a result of security incidents, examine available recovery tools and processes, and recommend and/or implement solutions.
  • Analyze, assess, and maintain current security policies and procedures. Provide recommendations to the Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Perform information security risk assessments, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) regarding security issues. Provide recommendations to the Chief Information Security Officer.
  • Maintain information security policies and procedures to ensure security strategies are followed to meet the organizational security goals and standards.
  • Perform vulnerability scanning on critical systems regularly and report gaps to appropriate team leads.
  • Interface and perform daily tasks assisting the Chief Information Security Officer in the administration of managed security services.
  • Document all security policies and promote activities and procedures to create an awareness of the significance of security within the Organization.
  • Lead efforts to ensure the network and server system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and all related implementation, maintenance, and operations procedures comply with security policies standards.
  • Perform Risk-Based Assessments on proposed projects with regular tabletop and full disaster recovery exercises. Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • As required, install, and configure new hardware and software.
  • Maintain logs related to network security operations as well as maintenance, change, and repair records.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent credits towards Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of direct support working in an advanced Information Technology Security position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a nationally accredited university in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • CompTIA Network Security+ Certification.
  • CISSP Certification.
  • Information security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CISA, Sec+, etc.) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of related experience.
  • Associate's degree and three years of related experience.
  • Four years of related experience.
