Job Summary:

Midland University, a private, faith-based, liberal arts university, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Men's Hockey Coach Graduate Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate student to gain valuable experience in coaching, program administration, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Coach in the administration and leadership of the hockey program, including game planning, practice preparation, and team management.
  • Provide coaching and instruction to student-athletes during training and practice activities.
  • Recruit and identify talented student-athletes to join the team.
  • Oversee team travel, including planning and coordinating logistics.
  • Direct strength and conditioning activities to enhance player performance.
  • Prepare and implement video analysis to improve team performance.
  • Organize and lead camps and clinics to promote the hockey program.
  • Ensure team compliance with all NAIA and institutional rules and regulations.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Eligibility for the Midland University Graduate Program.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Previous hockey coaching experience.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude and ability to work independently.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Tuition remission in the master's program, dependent on degree pursued.
  • A free campus meal plan (15 meals per week), dependent on degree pursued.
  • A monthly stipend, dependent on degree pursued.
