Job Title: Z Basketball 7th/8th Boys

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced basketball coach to lead our 7th and 8th grade boys' teams at Cocoa High School.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in basketball coaching, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a large group of students/athletes. They will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive coaching plan, leading practices and games, and providing guidance and support to student-athletes.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching plan that aligns with the school's athletic program goals
  • Lead practices and games, providing guidance and support to student-athletes
  • Develop and maintain a positive and respectful team culture
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
  • Meet the qualifications and certification requirements for the position
Requirements:
  • Two (2) years documented high school basketball coaching experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the sport at the competition level
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the management of large groups of students/athletes
  • College level coaching may substitute for High School coaching experience
Substitutions:

College level coaching may substitute for High School coaching experience.

Notes:

Please note that Temporary Athletic Coaching Certificates are not renewable by the State of Florida. To obtain a five year (Professional) Athletic Coaching Certificate issued by the State of Florida Dept. of Education, you will be required to Complete Sports Specific, Sports Medicine, and Sports Theory and receive a valid CPR card from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
