Licensed Practical Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the Southeastern Correctional Institute in Lancaster, OH. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care: Provide direct and indirect patient care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, professional standards of care, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Documentation and Administration: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care, perform administrative tasks, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications orally and intravenously, as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patient responses.
- Developing Care Plans: Develop individualized care plans for patients, taking into account their unique needs and medical histories.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care, and communicate effectively with patients and their families.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly and effectively in emergency situations, administering CPR and other life-saving interventions as needed.
- Specialized Care: Provide specialized care to medically fragile children, including optimizing wellness levels and ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Charting and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical charts, patient histories, and allergen records.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support, including assisting with organizational tasks and briefing patients' families on post-operative care.
- IV Therapies and Infection Control: Administer IV therapies, including intramuscular medications and antibiotics, and ensure adherence to infection control measures.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of licensed practical nursing.
- License: Current licensure in good standing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Experience: One year of experience in LPN specialty in a facility, with current AHA BLS certification required, and AHA ACLS certification required for placement on the Telemetry floor.
