Fresenius Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers, ensuring a positive experience for patients and their families.
- Patient Care: Assist patients with their dialysis treatment, including preparing them for treatment, monitoring their vital signs, and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process.
- Technical Skills: Operate dialysis machines, perform vascular access evaluations, and administer heparin as delegated or as allowed by state law.
- Clerical and Administrative: Enter treatment data into the designated clinical application accurately and in a timely manner, review treatment sheets for completeness, and prepare lab requisitions for prescribed or stat lab specimens.
- Education: Center for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS)-approved state and/or national certification or High school diploma or G.E.D. and must meet certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
- Experience: Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred.
