Key Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse in our Operating Room utilizes the nursing process to provide safe and effective care to patients in all settings, collaborating with other healthcare providers as needed.
- The RN is accountable for their own professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.
- They act as a patient advocate, utilizing organizational resources to deliver safe care, including delegation of care and participation in performance and practice improvement activities.
- The delivery of nursing care within the Kettering Health Network reflects the missions, vision, values, and philosophies of the organization and nursing departments.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess the following qualifications:
- Current licensure in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (NLN, ACEN, or CCNE) for new graduate nurses.
- Bachelor of Science in nursing preferred, to be completed within 5 years of hire.
- Nurses returning to the acute care setting after 5 or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS as determined by unit scope of practice.
Preferred Qualifications
On-call requirements include a 30-minute response time, and previous OR experience is preferred.
