This role involves hands-on, physical tasks. The Operations Associate must be comfortable performing repetitive duties in a minimally supervised setting. Responsibilities include managing the flow of materials throughout the facility, adhering to safety protocols, packaging and processing outgoing shipments, and assisting with incoming deliveries.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS:

The physical demands of this position require the ability to:

  • Safely utilize a full-face NOISH certified cartridge respirator.
  • Lift and transport items weighing up to 60lbs to a height of 5ft and over a distance of 10ft.
  • Tolerate non-hazardous chemical odors consistently.
  • Frequently work under augmented yellow lighting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (performed under moderate supervision) include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and operational guidelines established by the company and industry standards, including staying informed on relevant HAZMAT regulations.
  • Analyze production schedules, material specifications, assembly orders, and other product documentation to comprehend requirements.
  • Follow assembly instructions and work orders to identify, select, and prepare materials, while communicating with internal departments regarding product availability.
  • Package and label materials according to work order specifications and in compliance with domestic and international regulations.
  • Transport raw materials from the inventory area to the manufacturing zone in accordance with proper HAZMAT handling procedures.

To fulfill these responsibilities, the Operations Associate is expected to engage professionally with vendors, internal teams, and our parent company in Japan regularly. Maintaining a positive, self-motivated attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction while working in a collaborative environment is essential. Attention to detail and a willingness to embrace new challenges are critical.

QUALIFICATIONS:


Educational Background:

A Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a related field is preferred.

Preferred qualifications include DOT Hazmat training, Six Sigma, ISO training, and familiarity with 49 CFR.


Professional Experience:

8-10 years of experience in warehouse logistics.

Specialization in shipping hazardous materials.

3 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Excel: Required.

PowerPoint: Required.

Experience with SAP, Oracle, MAXIMO, and/or ERP systems.

Comprehensive understanding of FIFO, LIFO, JIT, and WIP methodologies, along with in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., DOT, IATA) for the transport and storage of hazardous materials.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee will work primarily in an office setting. This role involves direct interaction with hazardous chemicals, making attention to detail and safety paramount.
