About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer III to join our team at HNTB. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions for complex transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and modify design calculations, technical reports, and engineering plans for assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers to perform research, development, calculations, and design delivery.
  • Apply engineering techniques, procedures, and design criteria for projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Leverage technical knowledge, experience, and client relationships to assist in project execution and evaluation.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.
  • Mentor, train, and review work of junior engineer staff and provide constructive feedback.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree in Engineering and 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Optimizing work processes by using knowledge of the most effective and efficient ways to get things done with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Independently progressing the majority of designs and tasks required of the discipline.
  • Exhibiting experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and MicroStation and/or AutoCad.
  • Exhibiting a thorough understanding of the application related to engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
  • Managing time, proactively forecasting, and communicating project development needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
  • 5 years design experience - (Transportation/Roadway/Highway).
  • Experience with InRoads, OpenRoad, and/or Civil 3D.
