Role Summary:
The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Skin/Sun Care Applications team, focusing on formulation development and customer collaboration. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong background in personal care formulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop innovative Skin/Sun care formulations utilizing Croda technologies and other suppliers' materials as needed.
  • Assess the performance of both new and existing raw materials across various formulation formats.
  • Collaborate with clients to create new formulations and resolve issues with existing products containing Croda ingredients.
  • Work alongside testing and evaluation laboratories to correlate in-vitro and in-vivo studies on ingredients and formulations.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including reports and presentations for cross-functional meetings and client interactions.
  • Maintain expertise through continuous review of scientific literature and industry trends.
  • Lead research initiatives that contribute to scientific publications and presentations at industry conferences.
  • Engage with regional and global R&D teams, as well as external partners, to advance research projects.
  • Mentor and support junior chemists as required.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including commercial, marketing, regulatory, and intellectual property departments.
  • Ensure the laboratory operates smoothly and safely by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining equipment and supplies.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of experience in formulating personal care products, or a Master's degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of emulsion, surfactant, and rheology technologies.
  • Strong understanding of raw materials and their compatibility for formulation development, with the ability to predict product properties.
  • Experience in formulation reverse engineering and benchmarking finished products.
  • Proven ability to present innovations effectively to clients and commercial teams.
  • Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE) for optimizing formulations.
  • Experience in troubleshooting stability issues and resolving complex technical challenges related to raw materials.
  • Knowledge of skin/sun care product validation and claims substantiation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interpret and understand standard operating procedures and laboratory practices.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Physical Requirements:
Able to engage in activities such as walking, standing, or sitting for extended periods.
