CAD Detailer Job Description

LHH is seeking a skilled CAD Detailer to join our team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of experience in CAD detailing within commercial construction, with a strong ability to interpret technical structural drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and review structural and civil construction drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Create detailed line drawings for the Line and Grade Teams to facilitate construction projects.
  • Develop formwork shop drawings based on selected formwork systems to ensure compliance with construction documents.
  • Generate pour break drawings as needed for construction projects to ensure smooth execution.
  • Collaborate with field teams to address any drawing conflicts or issues related to formwork, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Review construction documents to identify dimensional conflicts and clarifications, and prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to resolve drawing conflicts.
  • Organize and maintain project drawing files to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Verify the accuracy of production drawings by comparing them to construction documents, ensuring compliance with project requirements.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience; minimum of one year of detailing experience, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and strong ability to interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and listening skills, with the ability to present information effectively and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in various environments and understand and follow safety rules, operational instructions, and procedural manuals.
