Senior Advocate

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Advocate to join our team at Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and families in our community.

The successful candidate will provide prevention education and outreach related to healthy relationships, dating violence, and sexual assault victimization to students in grades 6-12. They will work closely with community partners to facilitate professional trainings, provide crisis intervention services, and advocate for victims of sexual assault, dating violence, and domestic violence.

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the complexities of working with vulnerable populations and be able to navigate challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.

• Deliver prevention education and outreach programs to students in grades 6-12
• Collaborate with community partners to develop and implement training programs
• Provide crisis intervention services to victims of sexual assault, dating violence, and domestic violence
• Advocate for victims' rights and needs
• Develop and maintain relationships with local service providers and community stakeholders
• Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities

• Bachelor's degree in a human services field (e.g., social work, counseling, education)
• 1-3 years of experience working with vulnerable populations (e.g., youth, survivors of trauma)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and crisis management skills
• Familiarity with local resources and services for survivors of trauma

• Competitive salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year
