We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Baltimore County, MD. As a key member of our Public Works and Transportation department, you will be responsible for performing complex electrical work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic components in water and/or wastewater plants, pumping stations, and related facilities.
Responsibilities- Installs and maintains electrical and electronic equipment components, and controls in water and/or wastewater plants, pumping stations, and related facilities.
- Performs tests on electrical and electronic equipment such as transfer gear, PC boards, microprocessors, and E-proms by using multimeters, transistor checkers, line testers, carrier frequency meters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment to diagnose problems and make corrections as required.
- Supervises and trains lesser skilled workers in high voltage (4,160 volt) electrical work, electronic testing, and repair.
- Maintains and repairs telemetering equipment and systems, emergency power supplies, tower equipment for mobile radios, and works with outside sources and other agencies to maintain and repair the same.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Reviews operating reports.
- Makes recommendations regarding equipment and parts replacement and repair.
- Keeps records as required.
- Possession of a Baltimore County Master General or Master Limited Electrician License or possession of a valid Statewide Master Electrician License.
- Three years' experience in work described in Examples of Duties listed above.
- Additional electronics training, such as a certificate from a recognized electronics school or military electronics training, may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience.
- Registration as a Master Electrician in another jurisdiction within the State of Maryland, plus sufficient experience to qualify for Baltimore County reciprocity, may be substituted for the required Baltimore County or Statewide License.
- Annual Salary review - Step increases may be granted on anniversary date based on satisfactory job performance.
- General Increases - Cost of living increases and adjustments may be granted as legislated.
- Longevity Increases - In accordance with the specific pay schedule, a full-time merit or classified employee may receive a longevity increase, equivalent to one step, upon completion of a certain number of years of classified service with the County.
