Job Summary

Perdue Farms is seeking a skilled Live Haul Driver to join our transportation team. As a Live Haul Driver, you will be responsible for transporting live chickens from poultry farms to our processing plant in a safe and timely manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer, ensuring all safety protocols are met.
  • Drive to and from farms, making 1 to 4 trips per day, with a driving range of 30 minutes to 4 hours without a stop.
  • Cross-scale with the tractor and trailer before and after each trip, and ensure the truck is fueled before scaling the full load.
  • Secure empty modulars before leaving the plant and full modulars before returning.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of experience in a related field, with a valid commercial driver's license (Class A) and a clean driving record.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and math skills.
Work Environment

The driver cab is climate-controlled, but you will be exposed to seasonal weather and temperature conditions occasionally at the farms. You must be able to remain seated for up to 3 hours while operating the tractor and trailer, and lift up to 60 pounds.
