Overview

HARDESTY & HANOVER, a trusted full-service infrastructure engineering firm with over 137 years of experience, is seeking a skilled Financial Analyst to join our Accounting team in New York City. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in billing processes.

Salary Information
Our competitive salary range for this position is $55,000- $65,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Job Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Preparing accurate and timely Invoice Submissions for various Government and Private clients;
  • Maintaining complete and accurate project folders with all related documents;
  • Enter budget changes and variance adjustments as needed in company reporting systems;
  • Coordinating billing procedures with various branch offices;
  • Responding to client requests for supplemental reports or detailed back-up documentation;
  • Effectively communicating with Project Managers regarding financial status, contract modifications, and client invoicing requirements;
  • Examining unbilled costs and unpaid invoices monthly to maximize billing and collection potential;
  • Reviewing invoice submissions from sub-consultants to ensure compliance with contract provisions and budgetary limits;
  • Performing additional responsibilities as required by project and company needs.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Management, or Business Administration;
  • Zero to two years of relevant experience in Accounting with an emphasis on billing and interpreting contract provisions;
  • Deltek Vision experience (preferred);
  • Ability to prioritize, organize work flow, and juggle conflicting demands;
  • Good communication, organizational, and time management skills;
  • Proficiency and knowledge of computer software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Outlook;
  • Capable self-leadership with attention to detail and ability to comply with monthly billing deadlines;
  • Professional attitude and high level of integrity;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively in a team environment when necessary.
