Job Title: Clinical Psychologist

Body Fit Plus Inc is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at a correctional facility in Avenal, California.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Clinical Psychologist to provide psychological services to mentally ill inmates/wards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology and experience working in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychological services to mentally ill inmates/wards, including crisis intervention, group psychotherapy, and face-to-face interviews.
  • Conduct initial mental health evaluations, including criminal, psychological, and substance abuse case history, to assess inmate's current needs and make treatment recommendations.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans that reflect the standard of practice, and consult with supervisor, treatment team members, and institutional healthcare personnel as needed.
  • Monitor inmate progress using Subjective Assessment Plan Evaluation (SOAPE) FORMATTED PROGRESS NOTES, and effectively apply community standard of practice for the selection and implementation of psychological treatment modalities.
  • Establish collaborative ties with community programs, groups, agencies, board and care homes, etc. to develop supportive community relationships as assigned and approved by the supervisor.
  • Conduct mental health education and develop additional resources for mentally ill and sex offender inmates/wards.
  • Assist patient-inmates/youths in applying for entitlement benefits (SSI), community programs, and services.
  • Compile and analyze data from audits pertaining to the mental health program requirements, and provide information to support staff for data entry.
  • Represent the department at formal and informal settings regarding mental health matters, and give input and help to implement new programs for the treatment, training or rehabilitation of patient-inmates/youths.
Requirements:
  • Twelve (12) continuous months of experience within the last three (3) years rendering direct patient care in public or private institution. Clinical competencies must be current.
  • Valid Photo ID Driver's License or Passport (Required)
  • Possess current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association
  • Valid California Psychologist license Hard Copy (Required)
