Position Summary

This position involves the oversight of security adherence for individuals and transportation systems governed by federal regulations. As a Transportation Security Compliance Officer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Executing basic inspections and contributing to more intricate evaluations.
  • Utilizing foundational technical inspection skills acquired through formal training and practical experience.
  • Conducting regulatory assessments and inquiries, and assisting in criminal investigations related to potential security breaches.
  • Responding to security incidents, threats, or infractions.
  • Providing both visible and discreet presence to identify and mitigate security risks.
  • Engaging in covert and overt testing and audits, along with vulnerability assessments.
  • Reviewing and interpreting assessment documentation to detect unusual patterns or behaviors that may indicate security or safety concerns.
Note: This role is subject to close supervision and review for technical precision and clarity in communication.

Emergency Essential Designation: This role is classified as an Emergency Essential position, requiring the employee to maintain duty status during emergencies.

Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  1. U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status is required.
  2. Minimum age of 18 at the time of application.
  3. Completion of a favorable Background Investigation.
  4. Selective Service registration is mandatory.
  5. Pass pre-employment Drug Screening and be subject to random drug and alcohol testing thereafter.
  6. Possession of a valid driver's license is necessary.
  7. Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight trips, as required.
  8. Availability to work various shifts, including irregular hours.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess one of the following:
  • Experience: Three years of general experience, with at least one year at a level equivalent to GS-4 in federal service or equivalent private sector experience.
OR
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
OR
  • Combination of education and experience: A combination of relevant education and experience that meets the total qualification requirements.
Credit for experience is calculated based on a 40-hour workweek.
