Job Description

UNC Health Care is a leading healthcare organization seeking a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Specialist to join our team.

This role involves performing various patient testing and administrative tasks within the laboratory, ensuring accuracy through quality control measures.

The incumbent will process specimens, conduct tests using advanced methodologies, and provide data to healthcare providers.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's of Science degree and be eligible to obtain certification as a Medical Technologist within a specified timeframe.

Responsibilities
  • Investigate problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
  • Participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
  • Perform teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents and training of new employees.
  • Maintain quality control and equipment in the appropriate laboratory.
  • Prepare specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required.
  • Report results to healthcare providers and consult/confere regarding test results.
Requirements

Bachelor's of Science degree and eligibility to obtain certification as a Medical Technologist within a specified timeframe.
