The Comforted Kitty is actively seeking self-employed Feline Care Specialists for our service area. You have the flexibility to determine your service area, with most clients typically located within a 10-mile radius of your residence.

Our Feline Care Specialists receive competitive compensation, averaging $24 for a 30-minute visit, $26 for a 45-minute visit, $30 for a 60-minute visit, and $85 for overnight stays. Additionally, you will earn extra pay on major holidays. We also provide a tiered bonus system based on the number of sittings you accept and complete weekly; the more you work, the more you earn.
The number of clients you serve is determined by your availability and the demand in your area, with increased demand typically during holidays and summer.
Please note that this is a self-employed position and not a W2 employee role.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FELINE CARE SPECIALIST
As a Feline Care Specialist, you will meet each client and their cat in person at their home prior to the start of your services. Your friendly demeanor and warm smile create a lasting impression. You take pride in your work and maintain professionalism in all interactions, leading to positive referrals and a rewarding sense of accomplishment.
During each scheduled pet sitting visit, you will follow the care instructions provided by your client with meticulous attention to detail. Typical responsibilities include feeding, cleaning bowls, refilling water dishes, maintaining litter boxes, administering medications, and providing daily updates to clients. You will also spend quality time engaging with the cats, finding creative ways to comfort and entertain them. Additionally, you may perform light house-sitting tasks as agreed upon, such as checking home security, collecting mail and packages, managing trash bins, and watering plants.
QUALITIES WE SEEK IN A FELINE CARE SPECIALIST
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Experience caring for cats is preferred (professional experience is not mandatory)
- Must possess a smartphone with internet access for app downloads, texting, and photography
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and reference verification
Our peak demand occurs during winter holidays, so we are particularly interested in candidates who are available during these times.
Certification in pet first aid/CPR or experience with administering medications (oral, injections, subcutaneous fluids, ointments) is a significant advantage but not a requirement. Are you capable of handling unexpected situations with confidence? Are you organized and systematic, able to manage schedules and keys effectively? Do you exude calm energy? If so, you may be an ideal fit for this self-employed pet sitting role.
FLEXIBLE PET SITTING OPPORTUNITY
This position offers a great deal of flexibility, making it an excellent side job for those with unconventional schedules, including part-time students or workers. While reliability is essential, there is flexibility in scheduling. Your clients will select from four time slots for their visits: morning (6 AM - 12 PM), afternoon (12 PM - 5 PM), evening (5 PM - 10 PM), anytime (6 AM - 10 PM), or overnight visits (10-hour stay). We will match you with clients who choose time slots that align with your availability, and you will be expected to arrive within those time frames, ideally maintaining consistency for the cats' comfort.

Our sitters provide care for durations of 30, 45, or 60 minutes, or for overnight stays. Our sitters always leave clients' homes in the same or better condition than they found them, delivering excellent customer service and, most importantly, exceptional cat care. This means adhering strictly to client instructions and promptly notifying them of any concerns regarding their cat or home.
