Job Summary

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS) is seeking a Staff Therapist to join their team. This is a full-time, on-campus position that requires the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities
  • Provide goal-directed therapy services to RIT students, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Consult with families and RIT community members to provide support and guidance.
  • Develop and deliver mental health outreach and educational programming to campus partners.
  • Support the training of graduate trainees in mental health fields.
  • Collaborate with the campus community to promote mental health and well-being.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a mental health discipline (i.e. psychology, counseling, social work).
  • Licensed or license-eligible in New York State as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Minimum of three years of clinical experience with young adults or adults in a dynamic mental health setting.
  • Ability to work effectively with historically marginalized populations.
  • Experience providing evidence-based short-term individual therapy, group therapy, consultation, crisis intervention, and case management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing clinical supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing culturally competent services to a diverse client population.
