As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in planning and implementing a comprehensive program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child, in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Classroom Leadership: You will be responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of children, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment that encourages children to explore, discover, and learn.
- Curriculum Implementation: You will implement the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum and programming, assessing each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
- Communication and Collaboration: You will plan with a member of the Leadership Team the parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations, maintaining open and effective communication with parents and colleagues.
- Classroom Environment: You will maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence, adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Highland Village Employee Handbook.
- Professional Development: You will attend all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions, maintaining overall professional personal appearance and adhering to the guidelines offered in the Primrose School of Highland Village Employee Handbook.
- Education and Experience: You must meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency, with previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge: You must have knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children, as well as the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
