We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team at ProCare Therapy. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of foster care students in Michigan.

About the Role

As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide remote instruction to students aged 14-18, many of whom have incomplete or ongoing IEPs. You will be responsible for managing a dynamic caseload, developing IEPs using PowerSchool and TIENet, and collaborating with foster parents, student advocates, and the school team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a dynamic caseload of 38 students, with the potential for additional students to be added throughout the year.
  • Develop and implement IEPs using PowerSchool and TIENet, ensuring legal compliance and timely progression for all students.
  • Collaborate with foster parents, student advocates, and the school team to meet the needs of a vulnerable and transient student population.
Qualifications
  • Active Michigan Special Education license required.
  • Minimum of one year working with at-risk students, with demonstrated use of trauma-informed teaching methods.
  • Proficient in PowerSchool and TIENet for writing and managing IEPs.
  • Ability to independently collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including foster parents, advocates, and school personnel.
