Position Overview:

This role operates under general guidance and adheres to established protocols and procedures. The primary function is to deliver a comprehensive range of customer service solutions while promoting various banking products and services. The Customer Service Representative will execute responsibilities in alignment with Midstates Bank's Core Values for Customer Service and uphold the Quality Service Standards.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Facilitates account services for clients by processing deposits, cashing checks, issuing withdrawals, managing night and mail deposits, and selling financial instruments such as cashier's checks and money orders. This includes addressing inquiries and resolving customer issues.

2. Maintains accurate transaction records by documenting cashier's checks and other specialized services, while gathering necessary details for currency transaction reports.

3. Promotes banking products by responding to inquiries, informing clients about new offerings and promotions, identifying customer needs, and directing them to appropriate branch representatives.

4. Handles account opening and closing procedures for both individual and business clients, including checking, savings, CDs, HSAs, and other product categories, while providing ongoing support for these services.

5. Completes special requests such as account closures, check orders, providing account statements, and managing safe-deposit box procedures.

6. Ensures cash drawer accuracy by verifying cash transactions, counting and packaging currency and coins, and managing excess cash and damaged currency according to established procedures.

7. Adheres to bank operations and security protocols by participating in dual-control functions and assisting in proof certification.

8. Safeguards customer confidentiality and protects bank operations by maintaining strict confidentiality of information.

9. Contributes to team success by achieving related objectives as necessary.

10. Engages in community activities to foster growth and enhance the bank's positive image.

11. Performs additional duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Qualifications: Strong customer service orientation, attention to detail, basic math proficiency, effective verbal communication, integrity, ability to meet customer needs, interpersonal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office, and familiarity with Jack Henry SilverLake software.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Prior experience in cash handling and customer-facing roles is preferred.
