POSITION SUMMARY
Accountable for all tasks related to the safe operation of production equipment, which includes setup, operation, cleanup, and suggesting enhancements to processes to fulfill customer requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prioritize safety at all times, remain vigilant of surroundings, and adhere to Pratt Industries' safety regulations and operational procedures. Actively participate in the Plant Safety Committee.
- Consistently follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Understand and comply with Pratt Industries' quality standards and protocols. Prevent defective products from reaching customers by identifying issues early in the manufacturing process. Maintain a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality output.
- Engage in various tasks within the designated department, potentially rotating through multiple areas of the facility throughout the week to work on diverse projects and customer orders.
- Perform general duties and responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workspaces, ensuring they are free from hazards during and after shifts. This includes keeping common areas such as break rooms and restrooms tidy.
- Gain insights from Machine Operators regarding machine capabilities and efficiencies, assisting in minimizing waste and downtime without compromising quality.
- Learn operational duties from Machine Operators and Production Supervisors, including machine downtime, setup times, and quality assurance.
- Cross-train on different machines and acquire knowledge of various roles within the facility.
- Assist in the timely and accurate completion of necessary reports, including Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, and Quality Data.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share responsibilities as needed, fostering a learning environment to expand job skills and support both plant and personal growth.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, particularly regarding safety and maintaining cleanliness.
- Follow the production schedule diligently.
- Be prepared to work overtime as required, sometimes with little notice, to meet customer demands.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management.

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of six months' experience in a manufacturing environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, safety guidelines, and job packets.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Proficient in reading a tape measure accurately and calculating figures such as percentages, measurements, volume, and rates. Ability to apply high school-level math concepts.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or graphic formats. Capable of addressing problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATIONS
May need to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This role requires regular standing, walking, and communication. Frequent use of hands for handling, reaching, and bending is necessary. Employees may occasionally need to sit and must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, high places, fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
