Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Anderson, SC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electronic issues, and ensuring our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles is in top condition.

Responsibilities
  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems
  • Perform standard component inspections and repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
Benefits
  • Hourly pay: $23.00 per hour
  • Certification bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained up to $700
  • Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter - four times per year
  • Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
  • Annual merit pay increases every year
