Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at The Arc Erie County New York. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for coordinating the health care needs of our clients, working closely with families, staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes. This role requires a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care, promoting health and wellness, and advocating for the rights and dignity of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and monitor the health needs of our clients, developing individualized plans of care to meet their unique needs.
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and providing education and support to clients and their families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and other specialists, to ensure comprehensive care and coordination.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to the development and implementation of client care plans.
  • Provide education and training to staff on health and medical issues, ensuring that they are equipped to provide high-quality care.
  • Monitor and report any changes in client condition, ensuring prompt intervention and treatment as needed.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
  • One year of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
  • Basic computer skills, with the ability to navigate electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
