The Shipping and Receiving Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and supervising the logistics of incoming and outgoing shipments within Aptyx. This position is essential for ensuring that all shipping and receiving activities are executed with precision and efficiency, while also maintaining accurate inventory records and delivering outstanding service to both internal and external partners.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Shipping Responsibilities:
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments in accordance with organizational and customer requirements.
- Create and affix shipping labels and necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with transport providers to arrange pickups and deliveries.
- Ensure prompt dispatch of products and compliance with delivery timelines.
- Receiving Responsibilities:
- Examine incoming shipments for correctness, damage, and quality assurance.
- Unload and unpack received merchandise, verifying items against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Document and report any discrepancies, damaged items, or missing products.
- Update inventory records and enter data into the inventory management system.
- Inventory Oversight:
- Assist in sustaining accurate inventory levels and effective storage practices.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve any discrepancies.
- Organize and manage storage spaces to ensure efficient access and safety.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive records of shipments, receipts, and inventory levels.
- Prepare and present reports on shipping and receiving operations.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory standards.
- Client Relations:
- Address and resolve inquiries and issues related to shipping and receiving in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, transport providers, and internal teams.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure satisfaction.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices in the handling and storage of goods.
- Comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace to promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is advantageous.
- Prior experience in shipping and receiving or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Working Environment:
- This role may necessitate prolonged periods of standing, lifting heavy packages, and working in a warehouse or shipping setting.
- Occasional overtime or weekend shifts may be required based on operational needs.
