Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrician to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As an Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing complex electrical systems throughout our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including preventive maintenance and documentation of maintenance measures and logs.
  • Research and troubleshoot general electrical issues.
  • Perform minor electrical installations as needed, such as receptacles and lighting switches.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with current federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in commercial or light industrial electrical work.
  • Experience with 480V to 4160 voltages preferred.
  • Electrical license or local licensure to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code).
  • Knowledge of State, Parish, and Southern Building Codes.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand mechanical and electrical symbolisms to interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications, and mechanical drawings.
  • Stress management skills.
  • Ability to work indoors, outdoors, in restricted spaces, and with flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts.
Work Environment

The incumbent will work in a healthcare setting and may be exposed to hazardous medications or hazardous waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.

The physical demands of this job include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
