As a Mission Architect, you will lead technical teams throughout the phases of design, prototyping, and testing to produce affordable yet effective SIGINT overhead systems. Your role will involve mission analysis, concept formulation, and payload design specifically for signals intelligence. You will translate system requirements into RF payload and Electronically Scanned Array (ESA) antenna mechanical and electrical specifications. Your expertise will be crucial in command and control, collection, processing, and exploitation of signals from air and space platforms. You will also support proposal efforts and play a key role in delivering SIGINT solutions that address critical customer requirements. This leadership role provides the chance to influence the expanding portfolio of air and space initiatives, contributing to national security by developing the next generation of tactical ISR systems.

  • Evaluate requirements for SIGINT systems and create payload and signal processor designs that meet those needs.
  • Examine current and future antenna designs and their associated electronics for suitability in SIGINT applications.
  • Establish signal processing and mission data transport requirements for ISR systems and devise architectures to fulfill them.
  • Act as a hardware subject matter expert to guide SIGINT system designs and liaise with customers on SIGINT-related matters.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (such as electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics).
  • Over 15 years of experience in SIGINT or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience within the aerospace sector.
  • Possession of a past or active clearance with the DoD or the IC.
  • Experience with signal collection payloads, including antennas, RF electronics, and both analog and digital data processing.
  • Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to ask pertinent questions.
  • Proficiency in multitasking, attention to detail, and making critical decisions.
  • Capability to thrive in an agile environment that supports rapid prototyping and meets challenging timelines.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and lean six sigma methodologies.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational abilities.
