Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at the Alaska Railroad Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the deployment and maintenance of our Positive Train Control (PTC) system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical direction and oversight for the design and implementation of PTC systems
  • Coordinate complex project needs to ensure timely and successful implementation
  • Ensure the integrity and reliability of all systems
  • Manage and document system configurations
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contractual agreements
  • Review and approve invoices for payment
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Services, Telecommunications, or a related field
  • Five years of professional systems engineering experience, preferably with signal, telecommunications, and information technology projects
  • Experience with value engineering, life cycle costing, project scheduling, and contractual oversight
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate, and monitor assigned projects
  • Two years of experience with budget and cost control methods
  • Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with federal grants
