We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team at the Alaska Railroad Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the deployment and maintenance of our Positive Train Control (PTC) system.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical direction and oversight for the design and implementation of PTC systems
- Coordinate complex project needs to ensure timely and successful implementation
- Ensure the integrity and reliability of all systems
- Manage and document system configurations
- Develop and maintain technical documentation
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure compliance with contractual agreements
- Review and approve invoices for payment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Services, Telecommunications, or a related field
- Five years of professional systems engineering experience, preferably with signal, telecommunications, and information technology projects
- Experience with value engineering, life cycle costing, project scheduling, and contractual oversight
- Ability to analyze, evaluate, and monitor assigned projects
- Two years of experience with budget and cost control methods
- Valid driver's license
- Previous experience working with federal grants
