POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Dietitian collaborates with the Food Service Director, Diet Technician, and other dietary staff to ensure optimal nutritional care for residents.
This role involves establishing effective communication and rapport with various departments within the facility, as well as engaging with residents on an individual basis.BENEFITS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts and oversees initial nutritional assessments for all new residents.
- Ensures that regular and therapeutic diet menus meet nutritional standards as outlined in the facility diet manual.
- Collaborates with the diet technician to monitor weekly weights, meal patterns, and dietary intake.
- Reviews and evaluates pertinent laboratory values as needed.
- Provides ongoing counseling and education to patients, residents, families, and staff regarding essential nutrition.
- Monitors residents' meal and supplement intake for appropriateness and consistency.
- Coordinates with other healthcare professionals for referrals as necessary.
- Works alongside the Food Service Director to maintain current policies and procedures.
- Plans dietetic education programs to keep dietary and nursing staff informed.
- Attends interdisciplinary meetings and relevant seminars to enhance job performance and credentials.
- Maintains compliance with registration requirements.
- Evaluates diet histories and nourishment records.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics/Nutrition.
- Registered with the American Dietetic Association.
- Preferred one year of experience in a long-term care facility.
- Must complete continuing education credits as required by the ADA.
