Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $16.60 - $24.64 per hour, with competitive differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Job Summary

This Phlebotomist I role is responsible for collecting blood and other specimens at our hospital and outpatient draw sites, providing administrative support to technical staff, and exhibiting service excellence standards of behavior at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Collect blood and other specimens from patients at our hospital and outpatient draw sites
  • Provide administrative support to technical staff, as needed
  • Register patients and specimens for lab testing, receive outpatients, and enter laboratory information system data
Requirements
  • BLS Certification through American Heart Association within 1 month of hire
  • High school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy training course preferred
  • 6 months of specifically related patient care/services experience preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge in medical information and laboratory safety
  • Ability to effectively communicate patient information to physicians, office staff, and hospital employees
  • Ability to act as a clinical laboratory information resource to all customer groups
