Amerex Corporation, a leading manufacturer of fire suppression systems, is seeking a highly skilled Fire Test Technician to join its team. As a key member of the fire test department, you will work under the direction of a fire test manager to perform fire tests and product evaluations in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct fire testing of Amerex fire equipment to ensure compliance with relevant specifications and standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new fire test procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with design engineers to design and fabricate special fire test equipment or components.
- Train and direct temporary personnel assigned to aid in testing.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment for testing and maintenance.
- Record and analyze fire test results to identify areas for improvement.
- Operate various test instruments and data acquisition devices.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve work goals.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Comply with all company policies, including safety, quality control, and regulatory requirements.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Fire Fighter preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of machinery and hand tools.
- Experience with hot work and welding a plus.
- Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and laboratory techniques.
- Ability to work in a dusty environment with fire-fighting substances.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Regularly required to stand, climb, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
