We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of surgical procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Assist the surgical team with patient positioning, draping, and gowning, as well as the preparation and handling of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Monitor and maintain aseptic technique throughout the procedure, reporting any breaks or complications to the circulating nurse.
- Participate in the counting and verification of surgical specimens, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient and effective communication, and provide support as needed to maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment.
- Graduate of an accredited operating room technology program.
- National approved certification as a surgical technician.
- Previous experience in a clinical/medical related position, such as a senior PCA or medical assistant.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation and supplies, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.
