Water Treatment Plant Operator

As a Water Plant Operator at American Water, you will be responsible for the safe operation of water facilities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality water to our customers. This role requires a strong understanding of water treatment processes, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and maintain water treatment plants, including chemical feed systems and process control testing.
- Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping tasks to ensure the efficient operation of facilities.
- Collect and analyze water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with laboratory personnel to troubleshoot and resolve water quality issues.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance water quality and efficiency.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of experience in the water industry.
- Class A Illinois EPA Drinking Water Operator Certification or ability to obtain license within company guidelines.
- Valid driver's license required with the ability to pass a motor vehicle background check.
