Position Overview

Creature Comforts Pet Resort is in search of dedicated Groomers/Bathers for both full-time and part-time roles. If you possess a genuine love for dogs and are comfortable with the occasional drool or fur, this opportunity may be ideal for you.

Essential Responsibilities

The role encompasses a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Bathing, nail clipping, and ear cleaning tailored to breed specifications and client preferences.
  • Interpreting canine body language to customize services according to each pet's needs.
  • Documenting specific grooming styles, products utilized, and client requests.
  • Engaging with pet owners about their dogs' behavior, coat condition, and overall health using appropriate terminology.
  • Reporting any concerns to management.
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the grooming area.
  • Assisting in the movement and handling of dogs throughout the facility.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Reliable transportation.
  • Punctuality and dependability.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Exceptional pet care and customer service skills.
  • Experience working with a variety of dog breeds, both small and large.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficiency in multitasking, prioritizing, and performing efficiently under pressure.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A confident and patient approach to handling pets.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, including:
    • Extended periods of walking or standing.
    • Handling and controlling dogs weighing between 50-100 lbs.
    • Frequent bending and reaching.
    • Lifting weights exceeding 50 lbs.

Experience:

Prior experience in a similar role is essential; personal pet care will not be considered sufficient. A background in a relevant field such as veterinary technology or animal sciences is preferred, along with any dog behavioral training experience.

Work Schedule: Flexibility to work weekends and holidays is necessary, with availability during mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Compensation is commensurate with experience, starting at $15.50 per hour.
