Commodity Trader - Customer Service

We are seeking a skilled Commodity Trader to join our team at Qonten. As a Commodity Trader, you will be responsible for implementing derivative product transactions for copper, gold, silver, diesel fuel, and natural gas strategic price risk management programs for Freeport-McMoRan and subsidiary companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute trade desk functions, including trade execution of authorized Freeport-McMoRan base metals (primarily copper), precious metals, and energy commodities.
  • Develop and implement commodity price risk management strategies to minimize losses and maximize gains.
  • Collaborate with the Sales department to ensure customer price fixations and hedges are met.
  • Prepare and distribute daily market reports to internal and external customers.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in commodity trading, risk management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of commodity markets, including metals, energy, and agricultural products.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
