Position Overview
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) at BrightStar Care is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical services to patients requiring Speech Therapy (ST). This role involves adhering to established standards of care, ensuring that all services align with physician directives and the individualized plan of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and mentor Home Health SLP Assistants (SLPA) to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Administer speech therapy interventions based on physician's documented orders.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate the therapeutic, rehabilitative, and functional status of clients.
  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive plan of care that reflects assessment findings; contribute to the client's overall treatment strategy.
  • Identify and modify activities that improve the client's quality of life, considering the home environment and safety.
  • Communicate client progress and any changes in condition to the Director of Nursing and the attending physician.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and settings, including educational and adult care facilities, to coordinate care.
  • Educate family members and caregivers on intervention objectives and strategies.
  • Assist in recognizing additional service needs for clients and their families.
  • Prepare and submit detailed clinical documentation and progress reports based on established goals.
  • Engage in discharge planning when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
  • Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in Texas.
  • Ability to provide services for both adult and pediatric populations, including expertise in swallowing techniques.
