Endoscopy Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Endoscopy Technician to join our team at SCA Health. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of endoscopy procedures, providing exceptional patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities:

Protect the patient from injury caused by extraneous objects and chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
Demonstrate safe operation of equipment and machinery and follows procedures for reporting and correcting an unsafe situation.
Speak up with safety concerns acting as the patient's advocate.
Handle specimens according to facility policy and procedures.
Adhere to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment.
Perform interventions to maintain the patient's wound and tissue perfusion at or above baseline levels.
Perform interventions to protect the patient from infection.
Protect the patient's rights, dignity, and privacy.
Provide age-specific, culturally competent, ethical care within legal standards of practice.
Comply with Universal Protocol and facility site validation and time-out policy.
Assemble supplies and equipment required for the procedure.
Prepare and organize sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
Provide instruments and supplies to the endoscopist during the procedure.
Maintain an organized sterile field.

Requirements:

High School Graduate or equivalent.
Prior experience as a GI Tech preferred.
Successful completion of BCLS Course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BCLS certification.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and exposure to bodily fluids, chemicals, and other hazardous materials. The employee must be able to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed. The employee must also be able to stand for long periods and move quickly and safely in a clinical setting.

Salary:

USD $19.00/Hr. - USD $21.00/Hr.
