Nurse Specialist

The Registered Nurse will serve as a staff nurse and will evaluate clinical practice and initiate change based on current concepts and findings from research and/or evidence-based studies. This role is ideal for a dedicated and compassionate nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and improving health outcomes.
Responsibilities
Perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures appropriate to the practice setting.
Provide leadership in interpreting, supporting, and implementing Medical Center and Nursing Department philosophy, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and quality improvement processes.
Accept responsibility and maintain accountability for actions and continued professional and personal growth.
Serve as a consultant in clinical practice.
Communicate and work effectively with others.
Initiate and lead groups of personnel and interdisciplinary groups.
Establish relationships with professional and/or health-related groups within the community.
Requirements
United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
1-2 years of nursing experience.
