Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our School Health team at Akron Children's Hospital. As a School Health Nurse, you will provide essential health services to students, working closely with the School Health Services Clinical Coordinator (Registered Nurse) to ensure the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide school health services as directed by the Registered Nurse and contracts, ensuring the highest level of care for our students.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student health records, documenting all services rendered.
  • Deliver clinical care, including routine, special needs, and emergency first aid, demonstrating expertise in patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, school authorities, and allied professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in educational efforts, promoting the department's and hospital's mission and values.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for diverse patient populations, regardless of age or developmental status.
  • Perform other duties as required, contributing to the success of our School Health team.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in healthcare, with a preference for experience in a school setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software.

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time position, with a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of our students and school partners.
