Gateway Rehab is seeking a skilled Corrections Officer to join our team in a Corrections facility environment. As a Corrections Officer, you will be responsible for providing custody and control functions for patients enrolled at the center.

  • Monitor patient movement into and out of the facility, ensuring a secure and safe environment.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed logs of patient activity.
  • Stay up-to-date on all facility rules, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance and patient well-being.
  • Conduct thorough intakes and participate in the orientation of new patients to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Administer patient drug screening to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Make telephone contact with employers to verify patient movement and ensure continuity of care.
  • Make telephone contact with families/friends of patients granted furloughs to maintain open communication.
  • Conduct random room searches to maintain a secure and safe environment.
  • Transport patients as needed to ensure timely and efficient care.
  • Dispense authorized prescription medications to patients in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Pass a thorough background check and obtain necessary clearances.
  • Obtain CPR certification and maintain current certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a favorable driving record.

Work Environment:

  • Corrections facility environment with varying shifts and requirements.
  • Ability to remain awake and alert while on duty.
