Employment Type: Three-month contract with potential for extension or full-time placement

Work Schedule: 8AM – 5PM, Monday through Friday

Compensation: $55 - $58 per hour, commensurate with experience

Attire: Scrubs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adequate supply levels are maintained.
  • Assist colleagues and take on additional duties as workload requires.
  • Conduct patient interviews to explain MRI procedures and ensure removal of any hazardous metal objects.
  • Provide mentorship and training for student technologists.
  • Manage scheduling and patient flow efficiently.
  • Initiate IVs and administer contrast media as per established protocols.
  • Perform routine cleaning and upkeep of the MRI facility.
  • Operate the MRI scanner, including routine setup, parameter adjustments, weekly quality assurance checks, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Be available for extended hours as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients both in person and via phone.
  • Screen patients prior to scanning, gather accurate medical histories, and prepare patients for their scans.
  • Research and document any questionable implanted devices.
  • Maintain accurate records in the patient log book.
  • Collaborate as a team member within the imaging department and across other departments.
  • Adhere to safety protocols in the magnet environment.
  • Utilize professional judgment and critical thinking in all tasks.
  • Stay informed and comply with all relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Conduct and document daily and/or weekly QA/ACR phantom requirements.
  • Position patients appropriately to capture necessary images.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Act as the primary liaison between patients and radiologists.
  • Accurately interpret physician scanning instructions.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ARRT accredited program.
  • Must hold registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • MRI (MR) certification is required.
  • Radiography (R) certification is required.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Preferred: One year of experience with Siemens MR Scanners.
