Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Plant Operations Manager, the Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance tasks essential for the movement, installation, repair, or assembly of various hospital equipment. The role involves interpreting mechanical specifications through prints, sketches, and manuals while adhering to safety protocols such as lockout and tag-out procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates proficiency in using the necessary tools to safely complete assigned tasks, ensuring the correct tool is utilized for each job. Responsible for the proper acquisition and return of tools in good working condition.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment, ensuring that the workspace, shop, and vehicles are tidy and orderly.
  • Provides courteous and cooperative service to all visitors, patients, staff, vendors, and colleagues, reflecting the organization's commitment to quality service. Collaborates effectively with team members.
  • Identifies and orders necessary parts and supplies for maintenance and repair tasks, tracking order statuses and ensuring proper storage of received items.
  • Practices effective time management, maximizing productivity for Parrish Healthcare and coordinating with the team to consolidate work orders when off-site.
  • Utilizes the work order system to monitor activities and time spent, ensuring accurate completion and documentation of work orders.
  • Engages in assigned and additional training to enhance skills and assist in training fellow team members.
  • Completes scheduled preventive maintenance tasks promptly, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Performs painting and related tasks as required.
  • Collaborates with other trades (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Electronic) to ensure that all maintenance requests are fulfilled effectively.
  • Conducts repairs in various areas as assigned, including but not limited to furniture, plumbing, minor electrical work, carpentry, and drywall.
  • Understands and responds appropriately to emergencies and drills, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Familiar with fire, disaster, and safety regulations relevant to the work environment.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.

Licenses and Certifications: Valid Florida Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as per corporate insurance requirements.
