Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated student to join our team as a Safety Professional. This internship opportunity is perfect for a student interested in gaining experience and knowledge in the safety aspects of the construction materials/heavy industry workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Safety Manager with safety audits, monitoring plant safety programs, initiatives, and compliance inspections.
  • Write work hazard analyses and develop training plans.
  • Review and assist with compliance of safety data sheets and audit safety training records.
  • Assist in documenting audit findings reports for distribution to operations management and work with operations to implement controls.
  • Assist the Safety Manager with routine aspects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work safely and follow all Federal and State laws and regulations as well as company and site-specific policies.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university/college majoring in a safety program.
  • Requires proficient knowledge of applicable tools and technologies to be used on the job, including Word and Excel.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Willingness and ability to work indoors or outdoors in a heavy manufacturing setting.
