PennState Health is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced outpatient pharmacy environment. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in preparing and charging for prescriptions/medications, while also organizing and managing stock to ensure smooth and efficient daily activities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in preparing and charging for prescriptions/medications
- Organize and manage stock to ensure smooth and efficient daily activities
- Perform various administrative tasks, such as answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide exceptional patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Six (6) months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy with an educational background in medical terminology and computer use required OR graduate of a formalized Pharmacy Technician Training Program with a minimum of 120 hours in an externship program required
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certified Boards) required
- Compounding experience not required but recommended
