Job Title: Senior Java Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team at BAE Systems USA. As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing novel algorithms and software features to meet mission needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement novel algorithms and software features to meet mission needs
  • Integrate with external components and APIs
  • Work with schemas to ensure data integrity
  • Test software at all levels (unit test, integration test, system test)
  • Deploy and maintain operational and test systems
  • Troubleshoot ad hoc site issues
Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen who is eligible to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and 8+ years of experience
  • Strong Java, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm experience
  • Strong Java foundation, including writing unit tests in JUnit, debugging source code, using Maven to manage dependencies and package software, working with third-party libraries and documentation, and writing robust code with appropriate error checking and handling
  • Experience with managed container development and deployment technologies, including writing Dockerfile specifications and working with docker images/containers, developing helm charts and deploying applications to Kubernetes environments
  • Understand complex system architectures and debug errors spanning multiple components
  • Must have a strong understanding of sound software development principles and practices
  • Must be able to plan and prioritize personal tasking and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Must be an independent thinker, capable of performing high-quality work, both independently and with a team, in a fast-moving environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in software development on Agile teams using Agile Developer practices
  • Familiarity with Rancher, RHEL 8, and Java 17 platform
  • Familiarity with Spring Boot
  • Familiarity with Postgres DB, Kafka, and Redis
  • Experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, SAFe Agilest Certification, or past experience as a member of an agile team
  • Experience with React.js, Angular.js, or Ember.js
