Job Overview

Momentum WORK, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in Santa Barbara, CA.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for supporting individuals with developmental and other disabilities, and will be able to provide on-the-job training and skill development in various activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide skill or developmental training in various activities as designated
  • Assist with personal care, including toileting and hygiene
  • Maintain accurate and current records of participant documentation
  • Contribute to positive relations between community members, program participants, vendors, and other Agency staff
  • Train program participants in accessing public transportation and assist with community integration
  • Monitor, track, and assist program participants in goal achievement
  • Organize social and vocational groups to promote independence
  • Comply with all Momentum Inc. program policies, CARF accreditation standards, TCRC, CAL/OSHA policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience working with persons with developmental and/or other disabilities in individual and/or group settings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to complete tasks with numerous interruptions
  • Compassion and respect for persons with disabilities
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and understanding
  • Valid CA Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
