SSM Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with treatments ordered by providers, as supervised by a registered nurse or provider.
- Perform select clinical duties, including interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information on patients' charts.
- Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients and perform basic clerical duties, such as answering phones and maintaining records.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and orderly environment and perform basic materials management functions, including ordering and stocking of supplies.
- Document the provider's encounter with patients, listing all proper diagnoses and symptoms, as well as follow-up instructions and prescriptions, as indicated by the provider.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; 10 years of work experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
- No experience required, but a strong desire to learn and grow in a healthcare setting is essential.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- One of the following certifications is also required: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC), Medical Assistant (RMA), Medical Assistant Certification (MAC), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
