Deputy Clerk

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Deputy Clerk to join our team at the Frederick County Clerk of the Circuit Court. As a key member of our staff, you will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our court operations.

• Provide exceptional customer service to the public, judges, and attorneys.
• Manage civil and criminal filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state guidelines.
• Process land records, concealed handgun permits, marriage licenses, and passport applications.
• Conduct daily correspondence with other agencies, attorneys, and the public to facilitate court operations.
• Prepare and process legal documents, such as court orders, sentencing dispositions, and probation orders.
• Assist judges in courtroom proceedings, including managing trial exhibits, swearing in witnesses, and coordinating video and telephonic hearings.

• 3-5 years of experience in a professional environment, preferably in a Clerk's office or related field.
• Strong understanding of Virginia laws, court procedures, and the criminal justice system.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software.
• Motivated, adaptable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
